Uninstalling BMC FootPrints Service Core

BMC FootPrints Service Core can be uninstalled from the Add/Remove programs option in the Control Panel. If you need to manually uninstall BMC FootPrints Service Core, please follow these instructions:

  1. Remove the five BMC FootPrints Service Core virtual directories from IIS
  1. On the server where BMC FootPrints Service Core is installed, open the Internet Services Manager by selecting Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Internet Services Manager from the Start menu.
  2. In the left pane, select SERVERNAME | Default Web Site, where SERVERNAME is name of the web server.
  3. Delete the following five (5) BMC FootPrints Service Core virtual directories: MRcgi, footprints, help, tmp, and MRimg. To delete a virtual directory, highlight the name, right-click and select “Delete”.
  1. Stop the BMC FootPrints Service Core Services.
  1. On the server where BMC FootPrints Service Core is installed, open a command prompt by selecting Start | Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt, and change to the BMC FootPrints Service Core directory using the following command:

cd c:\FootprintsServiceCore\bin

where BMC FootPrints Service Core is installed to c:\FootprintsServiceCore.  Change the path accordingly if BMC FootPrints Service Core is installed to a different directory.

  1. Stop the scheduler service using the following command:

FPschedule –u

  1. Stop the backup scheduling service:

FPwatch -u

  1. Uninstall BMC FootPrints Service Core.
  1. Select Start | Programs | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs, and choose BMC FootPrints Service Core.
  2. Follow the prompts to uninstall BMC FootPrints Service Core.
  1. Delete the BMC FootPrints Service Core folder (c:\FootprintsServiceCore if installed to the default location.)
